Not only when they succeeded. Not only when they fitted in. But from the moment they walked into a classroom. In more than 30 years of working in education, I have seen many moments that reminded me how powerful that feeling of belonging can be.

Creating Classrooms Where Every Child Belongs grew from these experiences, and from the many real stories of students and educators I have had the privilege of learning from over the years.
I have come to believe that meaningful change does not always begin with a new system or a sweeping reform. Sometimes, it begins when we choose to show up for one child. This book is about those moments, and the people who make them possible.
